Five to Thrive as a model, an approach and a framework for promoting connected relationships

** Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council - Five to Thrive multi-disciplinary training events for Parents & Grandparents 2024 **.

Date: Thursday 20th June 2024 (10:00 am – 1:30 pm).

Venue: Stourbridge Family Centre, Forge Road, Stourbridge, Dudley, West Midlands, DY8 1XF.

Course: 'Five to Thrive as a model, an approach and a framework for promoting connected relationships'.

Description: From the beginning of life humans need other humans. Brains depend on self-regulation and we are not born able to self-regulate. But we are born able to connect to another human whose brain is working, and to benefit from their self-regulation through mirroring and matching their brain activity.

Five to Thrive provides a simple model for understanding what happens inside us when we connect with people to meet their need for co-regulation. This is vital for brain development in babies and young children, but equally vital for supporting brain function throughout life whenever we become overwhelmed with stress.

This is essential learning for Parents & Grandparents.

This face to face training event marks the ongoing roll out of Five to Thrive across the Borough in 2024.
